I am an independent traveler and does not require room service and overall service and would prefer to have a well designed space for that same price left to my own device. If you require more service and amenities, then Maana Homes may not be for you. I would argue that Maana Homes cater to the more independent travelers that appreciate great design with comfortable furnishings. If you are a luxury traveler that requires more service overall, then you should try Hoshinoya, Aman, Six Senses, Hotel the Mitsui, etc. instead.
Upon arrival, Maana Kiyomizu shares a space with POJ Studio, which is next door to my suite. It sells high quality goods from Japanese artisans. You will find these ceramics in the Maana suites.
Then upon checking in, I was greeted by Sergio, with whom I spoke to about just about everything, for a long while. I also taught him my new awesome Japanese old man phrase that I altered. He approved by the way.
Behold. Suite 3. It was serene, spacious and wabi sabi perfection. I did not want to leave. However, I did manage because: Kyoto. I played my mellow playlists. I took baths in that tub. I made hojicha in their gorgeous teapot and drank it out of the matching cup. I read on the couch. It was lovely. If you are looking for a space that is more considered, then I would highly recommend you check out Maana Homes for yourself and stay a while for your very own serenity now. Maybe you will also learn an awesome Japanese old man phrase yourself.
