Paris Day 5. Le Chateaubriand. Paris. France. 9.17.2013.

When Sean O'Toole, David Prior, and The Selby all tell you to go somewhere to eat, you go. So I went. That was probably the best bottle of white wine I have ever had. Big thanks to Thomas for making my reservation and Lisa for joining!

Paris Day 4. Eiffel Tower. Paris. France. 9.16.2013.

I only had 2 mandatories for this holiday. Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower was one. We even witnessed a double rainbow! When we got to the top, we got to see the sunset. Then it poured and cleared up. It was really magical to see all the weather take place right in front of you. Best Monday this year by far.

Paris Day 4. Notre Dame. Paris. France. 9.16.2013.

Before me things created were none, save things
Eternal, and eternal I endure.
All hope abandon, ye who enter here.

Paris Day 3. Amour. Paris. France. 9.15.2013.

My will and my desire were turned by love, the love that moves the sun and the other stars.
-Dante

Paris Day 3. Sacré-Cœur. Montmartre. Paris. France. 9.15.2013.

The view was stunning with the clouds at Sacré-Cœur. On the way to the church there was the most amazing busker I have ever seen. He can do things that defy gravity with the football.

Paris Day 2. Pont Neuf + Pont des Arts. Paris. France. 9.14.2013.

I have not slept.
Between the acting of a dreadful thing
And the first motion, all the interim is
Like a phantasm, or a hideous dream:
The Genius and the mortal instruments
Are then in council; and the state of man,
Like to a little kingdom, suffers then
The nature of an insurrection.
-William Shakespeare

Paris Day 2. L'Arc de Triomphe + Champs-Élysées. Paris. France. 9.14.2013.

On this day we walked from the apartment near the Louvre all the way to l'Arc de Triomphe. Along Champs-Élysées we stopped by Ladurée to get some macarons. I see what al the fuss is about now for these macarons. I even stopped by Ladurée at the airport to bring some back for friends, as the quality of these macarons diminish with time, so it's best to eat them fast before they harden. Then we climbed the stairs to the top of l'Arc de Triomphe for this view.

Paris Day 1. Paris. France. 9.13.2013.

Welcome to my first holiday ever. 8 full days in Paris. My biggest thanks to Jasmine and Mathieu, as this trip would not have been at all possible without their generosity. Thank you also to David, Marie-Anne, Megan, Ben, Inome, Todd, Thomas, Tracey, Lisa and everyone else who sent me their maps and recommendations and for all the tips!

It was rainy for a bit of the trip, but I love clouds and beautiful sunsets with ominous clouds, so it really worked in my favor. You will see for yourself in the pictures for the next few days. We were in a cab on the way to Chez Moustache for dinner. The pictures came out too dark, hence the lack of them.

The 1975 - Chocolate (Acoustic)

The album dropped this week.

20th Century Café. San Francisco. California. 9.8.2013.

Today I checked out 20th Century Café in Hayes Valley. The honey cake is to die for. It actually goes very well with the Neumarkter Lammsbräu Dunkel, as the bitterness of the beer compliments the cake quite nicely. You don't have to take my word for it, since it was Staffan Terje who said so. They also make lovely fresh herbal tea. Personally, I look forward to checking out Michelle's outfits when I go. Pst: Michelle was the pastry chef at Range. She makes amazing cakes.

Levi's Make Our Mark.

This has to be one of my favorite edits I've worked on (I wasn't the editor). You should check out the rest of the project Station to Station. More videos on this here.

Sheeple.

Here's a funny random fact for you. So back in the day we were working on a Scion campaign where we featured Sheeple. As we were making the campaign, I would make random Sheeple noises all the time in the office. So one day I got called into the "sound booth" in our office and I was asked to record Sheeple noises. Once the cinema spot was out, I kept getting calls and emails from people saying, "Hey Amy, I just heard you in the theater!" Of course I had no idea what they were talking about. Until I went to the movies and saw the cinema spot before the movie I was about to watch.
