Dr. Octagon. The Fillmore. San Francisco. California. 2.18.2018.

Dr. Octagon has a new album releasing 4.6.2018. This is the first time that they are touring, so I highly recommend you seeing this if you have the chance. After the show I showed the band the first rough cut of the music video we are launching in March. I can't wait to release that into the world so you can see. It's very exciting. Then we went and ate some more after the show. Qbert, I am not the mayor of Chinatown.

State Bird Provisions. San Francisco. California. 2.18.2018.

State Bird Provisions remains one of my favorites in town for good reasons. I like the casual ambience, the dim sum style service, the impeccable food, and how nice the staff is there. I was so grateful that they could fit me in last minute for dinner before the show at The Fillmore. We ordered so many things, and many were stand outs marked below with a *.

Hanlin Tea Restaurant. San Francisco. California. 2.18.2018.

My favorite place to get authentic milk tea (dairy free) in San Francisco is Hanlin Tea Restaurant. I almost always get the jade green milk tea, and sometimes I get the black milk tea if I need more caffeine. This is by far the most authentic and well made milk tea I have had in town, not a surprise since they were the original inventors of the boba milk tea in Taiwan. I have eaten here twice and I feel that overall the food is good. A lot of Taiwanese say that this is the most authentic Taiwanese food they have had. However, I tend to stick with the tea here.

Heath Ceramics + Tartine Manufactory. San Francisco. California. 2.17.2018.

My friend and I decided to have brunch at Tartine Manufactory to catch up as we both haven't been in a while. They changed the layout. If you want a sit down brunch then you can put your name down for a table and they will text you when they are almost ready. You can also line up at the pastry/ice cream counter to get things to go as well. So while we waited for our table, we went over to Heath Ceramics to check out the newsstand and the store to peruse a lot of wants. Heath Newsstand has a very impressive assortment of magazines and highly curated. I would say the only other place in town with a more impressive magazine selection would be Kinokuniya.

Tartine Manufactory is alway good. Definitely a spendy brunch, but it was delicious. I also finally got to try my first ice cream pie there. I had been eyeing the matcha one (as I have a great love for all things matcha). One day, matcha ice cream pie, you will be mine.

Dragon Beaux. San Francisco. California. 1.13.2018 + 1.27.2018.

Dragon Beaux is now my new favorite dim sum restaurant. It's the same owner as Coi Palace in the Bay Area. The reason why they are my new favorite is because they use fresh ingredients instead of frozen ones and it makes a huge difference. It's definitely pricier than my usual Great Eastern. It is also nouveaux Hong Kong style dim sum as well, so you get more of a modern take on traditional dim sum items. I went there twice in January with 2 different groups fo friends and I definitely have a few menu favorites. They also have a great tea selection to go with your dim sum as well! At night they have a traditional Chinese a la cart menu or you can do their hotpot. They even have wagyu!
