And you're a liar, at least all of your friends are
And so am I, just typically drowned in my car
It's my party and I'll cry to the end
You must try harder than kissing all of my friends
You

It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you

You're alive, at least as far as I can tell you are
And so am I, you beat me down and then we're back to my car
And it's so ironic how it's only been a year
And it's not my fault that I fucked everybody here

It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you

And I say
Do you wanna dance, do you wanna dance, do you wanna dance
In the bar at the back of the hall?
And I say
Do you wanna dance, do you wanna dance, do you wanna dance
Dance in the back of the hall?

It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you
It takes a bit more, yeah it takes a bit more than you

Every night my dream’s the same
Same old city with a different name
Men are coming to take me away
I don’t know why but I know I can’t stay

There’s a weight that’s pressing down
Late at night you can hear the sound
Even the noise you make when you sleep
Can’t swim across a river so deep

They know my name 'cause I told it to them
But they don’t know where
They don’t know when it’s coming, when it’s coming

There’s this fear I keep so deep
Knew its name since before I could speak, yeah, oh
They know my name 'cause I told it to them
But they don’t know where
They don’t know when it’s coming
Oh when it’s coming, keep the car running

If some night I don’t come home
Please don’t think I’ve left you alone
The same place animals go when they die
You can’t climb across a mountain so high
The same city where I go when I sleep
You can’t swim across a river so deep

They know my name 'cause I told it to them
But they don’t know where
They don’t know when it’s coming
Oh when is it coming? Keep the car running
Keep the car running, keep the car running

It was from my recent trip to Jenner that I realized I have never been to Mendocino County. Typically I go South on Highway 1. So this time I decided to take a trip alone up north before a new adventure awaits next Monday. I even made a "mendocino" playlist just for this occasion. It mostly consists of The 1975, Beach House, Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, Mansions On The Moon, Saint Saviour, Stars, Twin Sister, Tycho, etc.
