We checked out of our Gion home on day 4 in Kyoto and moved over to Arashiyama for our finale at Hoshinoya (which will be its own post). After we dropped off our bags with concierge, we had lunch at Udon Arashiyama-tei as it's right there at Arashiyama Park. I opted for the chicken curry udon to mix it up.

Then we hung out at the park to enjoy the cherry blossoms and for even more people watching! But first, we got soft serves at Chavaty. You can make a reservation or put your name down for a tea service (which looked amazing), and you can line up for soft serve. I highly recommend getting their hojicha soft serve. While they have a few locations in Japan, they do source their teas from a local vendor and it was very high quality.

The most beautiful pudding shop at the park.
After we checked into Hoshinoya, we walked back to Arashiyama to enjoy the view from the other side of the river and to grab dinner out.
Please bear in mind that Arashiyama shuts down rather early. Please plan your dinners accordingly. I rarely eat dinner, but my friends were starving, so we ended up at Ine for a tofu dinner as most things were closing at this hour and our options were limited.

We tried to go to the bamboo forest after dinner to burn off some calories, but it was extremely windy and cold. We aborted half way and started walking back to get a ride from concierge back to our room at Hoshinoya.
